What are our events (sessions) about?
Like all EYP events, sessions in Poland are held in English.
The participants of the debates (called delegates during the event) are divided into smaller groups – commissions. Those are modelled on the committees of the European Parliament. Each of these groups is run by an experienced EYP member. During the event, the committees work on a resolution – a document containing solutions for a given problem that has been assigned to them. The resolution is based on group discussion and the free exchange of ideas among committee members. During the General Meeting, delegates have the opportunity to defend their resolution against all participants of the event. Additionally, a cultural program is held during the event. Before each event, a one-day training for volunteers takes place.
Events organised by EYP – both in Poland and abroad – serve for the development of young people. EYP sessions allow students to improve their language skills during formal debates during the General Assembly as well as in less formal circumstances such as working in committees or during teambuilding activities. In addition, students have the opportunity to broaden their knowledge on political and social issues of the European community. Our events also encourage creative solutions and substantive discussions on them.
All the events, that we organised in our period of existance, can be seen on the EYP members’ platform page.

What do we organise?

ONE DAY SESSIONS

One-day sessions ‘Days of EYP Poland’ take place in the second half of the year, from September to December, in various Polish cities. Annually, there are usually three to five one-day events. Each event gathers around 70 volunteers and participants. They are addressed to Polish high school and university students as an opportunity to learn about our methodology and format of events. During these events, participants experience all session elements in a compressed format and an accelerated pace. In one day integration games, work and building resolutions in committees, and the General Assembly take place. In addition, participants of one-day events have a chance to be selected for other EYP conferences abroad. Find out more about ‘Days of EYP Poland’ on the Facebook page of the events.

REGIONAL SELECTION CONFERENCES

Regional Sessions of EYP Poland are organised every year in various Polish cities, in the months of February to April. Typically, three regional sessions take place per year and more than 100 participants and volunteers take part in each. They are directed mainly to Polish high school and university students, while volunteers working on these events come from all over Europe. The events last three days for delegates. The first day is Teambuilding, during which delegates get to know each other through integration games. The next day is working in committees and creating resolutions that will be debated at the General Assembly during the last day of the conference. In the meantime, accompanying evening events and a cultural program takes place. In addition, participants are evaluated by experienced EYP members during committee work and the General Assembly. In the event that the same participants would like to apply in the future to the National Selection Conference, these evaluations are taken into account in the recruitment process. Follow the information about our Regional Sessions on their Facebook page.

NATIONAL SELECTION CONFERENCE

The National Selection Conference (NSC) is the main event of EYP Poland, organised every year in September, attended by over 200 participants and volunteers. It is addressed mainly to Polish high school students and lasts five days for delegates. The first day is Teambuilding, during which delegates get to know each other through integration games. The next two days are working in committees and creating resolutions that will be debated at the General Assembly during the last two days of the conference. In the meantime, accompanying evening events and a cultural program takes place. During the NSC, the selection included in the name is also carried out – for sessions and international forums, which last from five to about twelve days. So far, we have selected participants for events in, among others, Rotterdam, Yerevan, Vilnius, Basel and many more. Follow the information about the upcoming Selection Session via the EYP Poland Facebook page.

INTERNATIONAL FORUMS

International Forums last around a week and gather around 300 participants and volunteers from all over Europe. The format of these events is the same as all EYP events, however, more emphasis is placed on the cultural side, to give participants the opportunity for greater integration and cultural exchange. As part of the Powershifts project, led by the European Youth Parliament International Office in Berlin, EYP Poland organised one of the three prestigious project conferences in Warsaw in 2016. More about Powershifts can be found on the website. Another International Forum that we organised is the Economic Summit in Warsaw.
